Born in the small coastal village of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, the supermodel was discovered in the harbor city of Durban when was just 15 years old.
Despite not being Brazilian herself, Candice does speak the country’s first language of Portuguese in addition to being fluent in English and Afrikaans. Swanepoel learned Portuguese from her former boyfriend Hermann Nicoli, 40, a Brazilian model.
