Lily Aldridge Makes the Case for Faux Fringe on Instagram

Even if they can transform hair into a style, getting bangs can be a risky move. After all, you can tone down an unfortunate set of highlights with a single process or slice layers into an ill-advised blunt chop—but once you’ve snipped a less-than-flattering curtain across your forehead, only patience and expert hairpin maneuvering will get you through the next few months.

Perhaps that’s why Lily Aldridge took a faux fringe for a no-commitment test-drive yesterday. Spotted on Instagram with tapered, Marianne Faithfull -esque pieces courtesy of hairstylist Bryce Scarlett, the model’s brunette layers took a distinctly ’70s turn that felt just right with a smudge of liner and a few disheveled flyaways. And while we doubt that this fan of crisp middle parts and slicked-back knots will go for the real thing, we’re suddenly in the mood for more than a trim.
