Megan Fox’s Parents Probably Wouldn’t Approve Of How She Lives Her Life

For many who grow up in a home with an overly strict upbringing, there is a tendency to act out. The sheer number of rules that need to be followed can make kids feel stifled and teens rebel. It is not uncommon for those who grow up in such a household to want to get out and explore the world on their terms.

This is precisely what happened to Megan Fox as she experienced a heartbreaking childhood. But after watching The Wizard of Oz as a young child, Fox found a way to escape. She recognized the world of entertainment was for her, even if that meant living a different lifestyle and having different beliefs than Fox’s parents had tried to instill in her.

When Fox came onto the Hollywood scene, she was instantly placed into the category of a Sєx symbol. However, unlike many who are typecast in this role, Fox discovered that she could write her own narrative if she was not just another pretty face. As such, the Transformers star went to great lengths to create a persona that men would lust after, complete with a controversial personality.

Because Fox was savvy enough to understand that if she acted like the “typical starlet and said all the right things” she would not become as famous as quickly as she wanted to, she became anything but typical. And while this meant doing things that her strict parents would not approve of, as long as Fox was in charge of her image, she knew she would succeed.

Here is why Megan Fox’s parents probably would not approve of how she lives her life.

Who Are Megan Fox’s Parents?
On May 16, 1986, Fox was born to Gloria and Franklin Fox. Gloria was a real estate agent who worked several jobs to help make ends meet and Franklin was a parole officer. The family lived happily together in Tennessee for three years.

But it would not last as the Jennifer’s Body star’s parents decided to divorce. And when this happened, it was the beginning of a childhood of change and tough rules that Fox had never experienced before.

In the years after the divorce, Gloria met and married the man who would become Fox’s stepfather, Tony Tonachio. When this happened, Fox and her sister moved to Florida.

Growing up, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles star was raised Christian before Fox’s mom remarried. After that happened, Fox was brought into the Christian Pentecostal church, where speaking in tongues was the norm.

It was also normal to be very secluded from others outside the religion. And because of this, Fox’s childhood became very strict, very fast.

Megan Fox Was Raised In A Strict Household

Fox’s stepfather had a set of rules that were much harsher than what she had previously grown up with before her mother remarried. And because of this, Fox rebelled at every turn during her teen years, first starting around 14 years old when the Taurus star regularly took her mother’s car without asking.

“I was always trying to get away,” Fox explained to The New York Times Magazine. “I hated authority figures telling me what to do. They wanted me to be conservative, but when I was a kid, I was obsessed with looking like Barbie. I was wearing the smallest clothes I could find.”

Even though she was not allowed to go to friends’ houses, have friends over, or date, Gloria allowed Fox to audition for roles in television and film. The Till Death star quickly landed roles and found her escape.

Because she was underage, Gloria had to accompany Fox, eventually moving for a short time to California. But Gloria did not believe that anything would come from the auditions, and she made her thoughts known to Fox.

“My mother never really believed that I would be successful, but I never second-guessed it at all,” Fox explained. “I never once even got depressed. I’m my own thing. I don’t feel like there’s anyone else like me.”

By the time Fox was 18 years old, she was on her own. Gloria had returned to Florida and Fox landed a long-term role on Hope & Faith being filmed in New York.
How Megan Fox Lives Her Life That Her Parents Would Not Approve Of
When Fox was raised by her mother and stepfather, there was a tremendous emphasis placed on keeping people outside the family from getting too close. They wanted no attention on them, save for church services.

Between the controversies Fox has been involved in and a career that has put her in the public eye, there is not much that Gloria or Tonachio would likely approve of.Be it comparing Michael Bay to Hitler during an interview, dressing in seductive clothing and taking communion from MGK dressed as a priest for Halloween, calling Donald Trump a “legend,” collaborating with Frederick’s of Hollywood on lingerie, or telling over-the-top stories, all is completely opposite of what would have been acceptable for Fox to do or what she had been taught as a teen.

On the flip side of this public persona, however, is a mom who fiercely loves her three sons and spending time with them.

Fox has also always prioritized family time, be it when she was with her ex-husband, Brian Austin Green, or now, with her fiancé, Machine Gun Kelly, who there may be an expiration date with. Both things that her parents would have no choice but to respect.

While her public persona may be a bit brash and shocking to some, the real Fox that the public does not get to see is anything but.

Where Things Stand With Megan Fox And Her Parents Today
While her childhood was strict, Fox worked at reconciliation with her parents. This includes Franklin, whom Fox was estranged from for many years until Fox reached out to let him know via text that she was getting married.

“That text changed everything,” Franklin explained. “She told me she was getting married and that she was in love and happy.”

“Of course, I was devastated not to be a part of her wedding and had never met Brian at that point. But more than that, I was overjoyed she had reached out to tell me at all.”

‘We had drifted apart for so long, but I always knew one day she would come back into my life… These days we text or call each other every other day and I love being a part of her life.”

Where things stand with Fox’s mother can only be ᴀssumed in a better spot than they were when Fox was younger. This is because Gloria has been pH๏τographed several times with not only Fox but Fox’s children over the years. However, no reports of how close the two are can be found.

After a tough relationship with her stepfather, Fox made it clear that her teenage years were not her best. But, there is no relationship with Tonachio today as he pᴀssed away in 2011.
