Megan Fox talks ‘complicated’ relationships in new book amid Machine Gun Kelly romance

Megan Fox has opened up about the “toxicity” in relationships amid the release of her book of poems.

The actress, who is currently engaged to rapper and actor Machine Gun Kelly, has a book of poems on the way, тιтled Pretty Boys Are Poisonous. The book takes inspiration from her own life as well as her imagination and is something that “women can relate to.”

She said: “It comes from a lot of places. Some of it is literal, while other parts are allegorical. Some poems contain a Grimm’s-fairy-tale-type element, and others serve the same purpose as memes in online culture. All of it is something women can relate to.”

The poems are set to explore toxicity in relationships, which she admits are “complicated” having been in an on-again off-again relationship with MGK. She said: “Relationships are complicated. For most of us it’s not a fairy tale.

“Relationships are not pretty. They are ugly. Sometimes they are a war,” Megan told People. “But through a wound enters an opportunity to grow and become a stronger more whole version of yourself.”

She then admitted that some of her work was kept from publications because it was “too graphic and unsettling for others.” Megan revealed: “I didn’t even bother sending the majority of what I wrote to my editor because they were too graphic and unsettling for others to read.

“I’ve been in the public eye for a long time and my career has been one long witch hunt. So nervous? No. I expect a mixture of admiration and vitriol from the public.”

Megan concluded by sharing that her acting work didn’t allow her to “express [herself] fully” but writing has always been a good outlet for her. She told the publication: “Acting doesn’t really allow me to express myself fully in the way writing does because I’m reading someone else’s words under someone else’s direction.

“Poetry gives me a space to experience some catharsis through art.”
