Love Is Blind season 6’s Chelsea responds to criticism over Megan Fox comparison

Chelsea Blackwell is finally breaking her silence on the criticism she’s been facing since comparing her looks to Megan Fox in the first episodes of Love Is Blind season 6.

While Chelsea hasn’t shared any real statements herself, she first re-shared a note to her Instagram story first posted by her friend Presley Carter that seemingly addresses the negative comments she’s been getting for saying that she looks like Fox. “Thank you all who are from our hometown and know Chels for all of your love and support for her through this! It’s been so exciting to watch her and see everything!” Carter’s note said. “Also very hard because people are so mean here on the internet and take reality TV way too seriously. Like it’s a show y’all, we need to cool it 😉”

Carter’s note continued, “Here’s what people who are criticizing the cast needs to understand… These are real people with feelings, and emotions. With families and friends reading the comments. We’re ALL imperfect, all trying our best. Please respect the cast through this.”

The note also went on to remind people that “this show has AMAZING editors…that want to get drama and tell a narrative. They are great at their jobs. We only see a little bit of the hours and hours they film.” Carter’s note ended with a reminder to not be judgmental.

Then later on Monday, Chelsea posted a video on TikTok where she laughed about the whole thing. “This would be a great time for the people who have ever told me that I resembled her to come forward,” she said in the video. “Please, I’m begging you.”

On the show, during one of her pod dates with Jimmy Presnell, Chelsea asked him if he has any celebrity doppelgangers. She immediately went on to tell him that she often is told on airplanes that she looks like Fox. “It’s just because I have dark hair and blue eyes,” she said in episode 2. “But I don’t see it so don’t get excited. That’s the only reason, there’s nothing else.”

While Jimmy clearly was excited to hear that the woman he was falling for looks like Fox, things took a turn immediately during their post-engagement reveal in episode 5. He told her he almost left the show prior to their in-person meeting due to his love triangle with another cast member, and during his confessional he laughed as he said, “She definitely lied to me on how she looked. Chelsea told me she looked like Megan Fox. But it doesn’t really matter, at the end of the day I’m attracted to her and I can work with that.”

Jimmy and Chelsea ended episode 6 in a major fight on the first night of their engagement honeymoon over his conversation with another woman at the party and how it made Chelsea feel “uncomfy.”

New episodes of Love Is Blind season 6 premiere Wednesdays on Netflix.
