Kourtney Kardashian Is ‘Letting Go of Trying to Change’ Her Family — but Thinks They’d ‘Benefit from Therapy’

The Poosh founder also introduced the idea of generational trauma when talking about therapy during a sit-down with her sister Khloé Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner

Kourtney Kardashian Barker is letting go of what’s out of her control.

On Thursday’s season 4 finale of The Kardashians, the Poosh founder, 44, arrived to the Blink-182 concert in San Diego to support her husband Travis Barker alongside her sister Khloé Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner.

While watching Travis prep for his upcoming gig, Kourtney gave her family members a little insight into one of the drummer’s pre-show rituals, including drinking an extra large iced coffee from Dunkin’.

When Kourtney noticed Kris glancing at the beverage from the corner of her eye, she quipped, “Mom’s gonna micro-manage [the coffee]!” The momager, 68, later proved her oldest daughter right when she pointed to his cup mid-conversation.

“She’s ᴀssuming it’s yours,” Khloé said before Kris explained, “We’re just very controlling.”

“My mom has a problem, ” Kourtney added. “She can’t just let you drink your coffee and find it on your own like she has to make it known that your coffee is there.”

In a conversation with cameras, the mom of four opened up about relinquishing control when it comes to trying to change her family members and their habits.

“I know that people in my family would benefit from therapy, but I’m letting go of trying to change other people and just accepting everyone for who they are,” she admitted. “This is me, this is my journey. That’s you and that’s your journey and just be accepting but also live my life the way I want to.”

Earlier in the episode, Kourtney brought up Kris’ tendency to be a “mᴀssive control freak” and led a family discussion about how it came to be.

“What about you makes you have this need to be so controlling?” Kourtney asked while sitting beside Kris and Khloé. “Are you ever curious about yourself about why you’re so controlling?”

Khloé suggested Kourtney “accept” the way her mother is, noting how Kris’s habits would be especially hard to break at her older age.

She later asked if she went to therapy, to which Kris quickly moved to change the subject.

“God bless Kourtney because she’s trying to have this therapy talk, and God bless my mom because she’s definitely not,” Khloé joked in a confessional.
