Kourtney Kardashian Says That the Expectation for New Moms to “Bounce Back” Is Unrealistic

Kourtney Kardashian has a message for fellow moms — and herself — in a refreshingly real Instagram post. The reality TV star shared a ʙικιɴι pH๏τo to her Instagram Story on Sunday with a candid message about postpartum bodies and the amount of unrealistic pressure that is on new moms.

“Dear new mommies,” she wrote in white text above her most recent post. “Your body is beautiful at all stages. During pregnancy as we are glowing and growing, postpartum as we are healing and shrinking, and then that period I find the hardest, as our bodies are still adjusting. And if you’re breastfeeding, that’s a whole other part of it.”

Kardashian then gave new mamas, and herself, a gentle reminder to go easy on themselves during their postpartum journey.

The pressure put on us to bounce back when everything is new and different isn’t realistic,” she added. “Life is beautiful. You are beautiful. Just a little reminder (for me too).”

Kardashian has been enjoying life as a new mother after she and husband Travis Barker welcomed their son Rocky last year. In March, the family took a trip to Australia, and Kardashian shared a snapsH๏τ of her trip with an Insta post. The first pH๏τo in the carousel featured an adorable snap of Rocky’s foot in front of a plane window. Other images featured daughter Penelope and son Reign, whom she shares with ex, Scott Disick.

“Feeling so grateful for every single second of time with my babies,” she wrote alongside the roundup. “Rare to get 2 full weeks of 24/7 time as they get older! Thank you Australia for the beautiful memories (minus the spiders).”
