Candice Swanepoel had us all gawking at her sheer blue dress for Brazilian singer-songwriter Anitta’s birthday party on Tuesday. The 35-year-old model went braless in a gown featuring a thigh-high split and a plunging keyhole neckline.
She complemented the look with gold chains, rings, and hoops, and styled her hair in waves. Her nails and lips matched with a popping shade of pink. Swanepoel paired the dress with high-waisted underwear and black Dr. Marten boots. Swanepoel Works As a Victoria’s Secret Angel Among Other Things
The South African model, who became a Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2010, pursued ballet as a young child, but swiftly caught the attention of a model scout—and the rest is history. Swanepoel has appeared on magazine covers all around the world, featured in editorials for America, England, Spain, Germany, Russia, Korea, China, and more.
She has walked the runway for countless fashion houses, namely Fendi, Chanel, Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce and Gabbana, Michael Kors, Donna Karan, and Giambattista Valli. For these same brands, Swanepoel has appeared in advertising campaigns and lingerie commercials. In her early days as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, Swanepoel modeled for the Kardashians’ 2010 swimwear line.
Aside from her native Afrikaans and English, Swanepoel also learned Portuguese from her ex-boyfriend and Brazilian model, Hermann Nicoli. The pair began dating after they met in Paris at the ages of 17 and 23, respectively. In 2015, the couple got engaged. They share 2 sons together, but ended on bad terms in November 2018.
Aside from her modeling career, Swanepoel is the global ambᴀssador and a loyal patron of the charity organization known as mothers2mothers. Their cause is to strive for a “HIV-free generation” of children and mothers in Africa.
