Kourtney Kardashian left her sister Khloe Kardashian gobsmacked when she revealed the bizarre gift she had made for her husband Travis Barker.
The couple are notorious for their extravagant romantic gestures and it seems they’ve now taken things to a new level. Kourtney revealed she has gifted Travis a vial of her blood, and in a quirky twist, he reciprocated with a vial of his own.
During the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kourtney proudly showed off the gift while Khloe visited her to see how she was coping with her pregnancy. As they looked through a scrapbook Kourtney had made for Travis, she asked: “Did you see my blood vial in there?” leaving Khloe speechless and momentarily lost for words.
Khloe couldn’t believe what she’d just head as she replied: “What? No.” Kourtney encouraged her to keep looking through the scrapbook until she found it, prompting Khloe to joke: “Gotta see the blood,” before asking: “It’s a real thing of blood?”
Kourtney explained the peculiar choice of gift by saying it was “just to, like, have each other’s.” Khloe wasn’t the only one taken aback by the gift. Kourtney’s pal Simon Huck was shocked when he saw it.
He exclaimed: “It’s sick. I don’t even wanna comment on it. And is there still blood in it? ” Kourtney confirmed there was, leading Simon to question: “Are you okay? Is that like, healthy and safe?”
Kourtney isn’t the first star to present their partner with such a unique gift, and it seems she may have taken inspiration from her friend Megan Fox. The Transformers actress previously gave her ex-fiancé Machine Gun Kelly a necklace containing a drop of her blood.
MGK later revealed that Megan had given him the unusual keepsake while she was away filming a movie. Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres, he explained: “Well, she was actually going out of town to film a movie, and this was really new in our relationship.
“I didn’t have a pᴀssport either, so she was going out to Bulgaria, and so I was kinda freaking out like, ‘You’re gonna leave and I can’t even come see you’.” He added: “Some people give a handkerchief to their partner. She gave me her DNA.”
