Alexandra Daddario stars as one Sєxy Baywatch babes in the upcoming movie. So it’s shocking to hear the 36-year-old New York City native confess she could not get a date in high school.
‘It feels really surreal — as a teenager I could never really get guys and I was pretty nerdy,’ the pretty brunette told People at the Slowmo Marathon in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday. ‘Now I feel like I’m getting my revenge by being a Baywatch babe. I’m like, “You could have had this and now look at me.”‘
The beauty worked as a model in her teen years so it’s difficult to understand how she did not get male attention. At 16 she was cast on the soap opera All My Children. She appeared in The Squid And The Whale. After a small part in The Sopranos, she was seen in Law & Order and Nurse Jackie.
In 2009 her career took off with a regular role on White Collar, followed by a steady gig on Parenthood. She stood out when she appeared on True Detective in 2014; a role in American Horror Story followed. Her big break came that same year when she starred as The Rock’s daughter in San Andreas. She will soon make the sequel.3
+She told People that she is dating right now and wants to find someone who is ‘nice.’ She added: ‘Like everyone else, I want to be happy, so that’s what I’m looking for.’ And she likes to keep her body in top shape. ‘I had a bad ice cream habit that I cut out, and I did start weight training which was something I had never done before,’ she said.
‘I was scared of bulking up too much, but it actually made a huge difference in my body, and I feel a lot better now. I love how [resistance training] makes me feel and look afterwards. It’s helped my posture, and if you stand up straight, you look better.’
At the event, she also addressed the slow-mo Baywatch run. ‘We don’t do it in slow-mo, we do it in real-time and then they slow it down,’ Daddario said. ‘You have to focus and you can’t let your face look ridiculous, so you are focused on looking Sєxy and determined at the same time. It’s sort of a weird version of a run.’ As far as Efron she said he’s ‘funny.’
