Alexandra Daddario will be the protagonist of a new fantasy TV series based on the cycle of novels by Anne Rice, the author who became famous worldwide for the Vampire Chronicles.

Anne Rice is an American author who entered pop culture rightfully thanks to the cycle of novels of the Chronicles of Vampires , from which the film Interview with the Vampire with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt was based . Soon, a new transposition of that novel will arrive on the small screen, but it seems that Anne Rice’s creativity has inspired the creation of another TV series. As Variety reports , Mayfair Witches is coming soon and the protagonist will be Alexandra Daddario.
The story is based on the novels of the Mayfair Witches Cycle , consisting of three horror novels ( The Witching Hour, The Demon Incarnate and Taltos, The Return ). Alexandra Daddario has therefore been chosen as the protagonist and will play Rowan , a doctor who will have to deal with her witch heritage. The TV series was announced as early as December 2021 by the American network AMC. But, after the author’s pᴀssing, this is the first official announcement of the cast.
The Mayfair Witch Series comes to TV
Dan McDermott , president of AMC Studios, explained why they chose the actress from The White Lotus as the protagonist. “ Alexandra is a singular talent who has lit up the screen in all the projects she has been involved in. So we couldn’t be happier to have her on board to lead the cast of a series that will be the centerpiece of Anne Rice’s expanding universe on AMC .”
Also Dan McDermott explained that the TV series with Alexandra Daddario could arrive sooner than hoped . “ We’ve found our Rowan and can’t wait for her to meet viewers later this year in a brilliantly conceived series led by Esta, Michelle and Mark .” Everything suggests that Mayfair Witches will arrive by the end of 2022 , at least on small American screens. In fact, we do not yet know which Italian streaming platform the project will land on.
