We’ve talked about how to get Victoria’s Secret model hair, Victoria’s Secret model eyes, and Victoria’s Secret model lips. So when we found out Victoria’s Secret was launching a new fragrance, Bombshell Forever (online now and in stores May 8), we couldn’t resist getting VS model Lily Aldridge’s perfume tips. Here’s what the California native had to say:
Spray fragrance in your hair. “When people hug you, you smell great.”
Switch to lighter scents. “I think a body mist is best for summer—it’s not as strong as an actual perfume. I spray it and walk into the fragrance.”
Try before you buy (and get a second opinion). “Some people spray perfume on the little pieces of paper, but I think you need to put one fragrance on one wrist and one on the other and smell—it changes once it hits your body, which is crazy! I’ll spray it on myself and go home and see if my husband [Kings of Leon front man Caleb Followill] says I smell good.”
Lily also shared a few of her secrets for having a Sєxy summer. Here are a some of our faves:
1. Get ʙικιɴι-ready. “I do Ballet Beautiful; it’s Pilates-based, but it’s what ballerinas do to train. It’s really hard! We had a show four months after I had my baby, and Ballet Beautiful helped me get my body back. I do it on-the-go, we can do it over Skype, or [creator Mary Helen Bowers] does it on her website.”
2. Embrace bronzer. “I think it’s the best beauty product. You just look so healthy when you have bronzed skin, but you use bronzer and don’t necessarily stand in the sun and damage your skin. It makes you look like you’re healthy and livin’ the dream. I just love it.”
3. Braid on the beach. “I love putting my hair in a braid. With the salt water and the saltiness in the air, when you take out the braid you have perfect, beachy tousled hair. It’s the best trick.”
4. Make a playlist. “I love ‘Empire of the Sun.’ It always reminds me of being on the beach because I played it one summer all summer. As long as I’ve got music I’m happy!”
