Kourtney Kardashian, like most mothers, is having a tough time navigating her son’s teenage years, and she blames Scott Disick for making things harder on her. Apparently, Mason has been distancing himself from her, which isn’t unusual for a 14-year-old forging his idenтιтy, but she believes Scott is purposefully encouraging a rift.
It all started when Mason decided to skip a trip with Kourtney and Travis Barker to stay with his dad, and while the reality TV star doesn’t agree with a lot of Scott’s decisions, she said on an episode of The Kardashians that she’s determined to respect her son’s wishes.
Kourtney Kardashian Is Sad Her Son Mason Wants To Stay With His Dad
Kourtney Kardashian has been going through a tough time recently, dealing with her son’s heartbreaking decision to stay with Scott Disick long-term.
“[Mason’s] now made the decision not to live with Kourtney anymore,”an insider told Life & Style. “She is heartbroken over it.”
Kourtney doesn’t want to pressure or guilt-trip her son, but she believes he’s being influenced by his father.
“While Kourtney is giving Mason space to work through his feelings, at the end of the day, she blames Scott.”
Kourtney blames him because she believes Scott is forcing her to act like the strict and annoying parent, and that’s pulling him away from her.
“Scott always tries to be the cool dad,” the source went on. “The kids can have all the sugar and junk food they want [at his house], and they can stay up as late as they want and watch whatever they want. [He] buys them anything they ask for. It’s no surprise they all love going to his house. They love their dad, but it helps that it’s a free-for-all when they’re over there!”
Mason Skipped A Family Vacation And Kourtney Was Devastated
Not long ago, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, along with their children, took a trip to Australia, and while they had a great time, it was still a bit sad because Kourtney’s son Mason decided to stay in California with Scott Disick.
“Mason is home with his dad,” Kourtney explained in a confessional in an episode of TheKardashians. “Which makes me really sad, but I’m making the most of every second.”
She allowed Mason to stay back without protest because she wanted to respect her wishes and knew it would be better in the long run not to stifle him.
“People have told her it’s just a natural part of life and that Mason will come back to her once he establishes his own idenтιтy, but it’s still painful,” an insider said. “Kourtney’s doing her best to accept that Mason would rather be with Scott right now. She says it’s because he’s a teenage boy who needs his dad, but it’s not easy.”
The source explained that Travis has been causing some strain among Kourtney’s children because they reportedly always held the hope that she would eventually get back together with Scott.
“Of course, the kids hoped Kourtney and Scott would eventually get back together. It’s been incredibly hard for them to understand that Kourtney wasn’t going to end up with their dad.”
For now, Kourtney is taking the approach of respecting her son’s boundaries, even when it hurts her, in the hopes that he will eventually come back to her.
“She doesn’t want to let Mason go, but she’s trying to respect his wishes and not smother him.”
