Kourtney Kardashian faces backlash for launching ‘all natural Ozempic alternative’

Kourtney Kardashian is facing a lot of backlash online after announcing the launch of a new weight loss supplement through her wellness brand Lemme. The 45-year-old reality TV star is getting flak online for her latest product, Lemme GLP-1 Daily, a gummy designed to promote weight loss by “naturally increasing the body’s GLP-1 production, a hormone involved in regulating appeтιтe and metabolic health”.

In an Instagram post announcing the supplement, the brand wrote, “Lemme GLP-1 Daily is the world’s first GLP-1 supplement with 3 clinically-studied ingredients shown to naturally boost your body’s GLP-1 levels, reduce hunger and support healthy weight management. Let’s talk about it.”

“Backed by gold-standard human clinical studies—double-blind, placebo-controlled, and randomized—Lemme GLP-1 Daily’s ingredients deliver results that speak for themselves,” the post added.

Social media users were quick to voice their concerns in the comments. One wrote, “I know supplement regulation is the wild wild west, but this screams class action lawsuit to me.” Another wrote, “Is the dosage of GLP per capsule even enough to make a significant impact on weight?” A third netizen wrote, “There should be data in all 3 together. Also there are very small studies and the data isn’t that impressive, but go on.”
Despite the criticism, Kardashian defended her product in a press release and said, “We spent years working with our medical advisory board to formulate Lemme GLP-1 Daily into the most effective and researched GLP-1 supplement on the market.”
She also spoke about the use of “clinically-studied and patented ingredients” such as Eriomin® Lemon Fruit Extract, Supresa® Saffron Extract, and Morosil™ Red Orange Fruit Extract in her gummies.
Kourtney’s supplement is set to launch on September 16.
