Kourtney Kardashian Hilariously Replicated This Iconic Kim K Meltdown From ‘KUWTK’

ICYMI, Kourtney Kardashian and her sisters are currently living their best lives on an idyllic family spring break vacation in Turks and Caicos. In between all the sizzling Kardashian-Jenner ʙικιɴι shoots, jet skiing adventures, and pH๏τos of them basking in the impossibly clear blue water, the eldest Kardashian found time to tease her sister by bringing back a truly iconic Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Kourtney playfully poked fun at Kim in an Instagram carousel she shared on Saturday, April 7, with a caption that KUWTK fans will recognize all too well.

“My diamond earring came off in the ocean, and it’s gone,” the Poosh founder quipped alongside a pH๏τo of her splashing in the water in a tiny black ʙικιɴι. The second pH๏τo played into her caption, showing Kourtney holding her ears with her hands while grinning at the camera.

Fans of the family’s original reality TV show immediately recognized the reference from the 2011 episode where Kim loses a $75,000 diamond earring in the water when the family is on vacation in Bora Bora and promptly has a meltdown. In the episode, the SKIMS entrepreneur discovered that one of her studs had fallen out of her ears when her then-boyfriend, Kris Humphries, tossed her in the water. “My earring is gone. My diamond earring came off in the ocean,” she told her family, then started to cry while holding her ears.

Kourtney wasn’t too sympathetic, ᴅᴇᴀᴅpanning, “Kim, there are people that are dying” in response to her sister’s hysterics. The hilarious moment quickly went viral, quickly becoming one of the most infamous lines from the series.

In a November 2023 GQ interview, the American Horror Story actress said the ribbing was getting “so old,” complaining, “Any time I’m in water, people will ask me if I found my diamond earring in the ocean.”

She also had a response to fans who wondered about the fate of the earring, revealing that one of her younger sisters actually found the missing stud.

“I don’t know if I showed this on our show, but Kylie found the earring … she dove in the ocean, put on goggles, found it, and then she went back and found the back of it,” she told the publication. “That’s how clear the water is in Bora Bora … guys, the earring has been found.”

Kim might want to leave the lost earring drama in the past, but it looks like Kourtney isn’t done reliving the moment – and fans quickly took to her Instagram comments sections with variations of “there are people that are dying,” including momager Kris Jenner.

Only time will tell whether the hilarious moment ends up making an appearance in the upcoming season of The Kardashians, which premieres on Hulu on May 23.
