Kourtney Kardashian Lets Son Plan 9th Birthday Party As He Adjusts To New Baby

Kourtney Kardashian gave full control to her son Reign when it came to planning his 9th birthday party and it looks like he had a fun – and expensive – time with his friends.

Kourtney, 44, shared a ton of clips on social media from the big day, which was held at her Hollywood Hills home. “Happy birthday to my Reigny,” she wrote over the first Instagram Story, which had Michael Buble’s “Holly Jolly Christmas” playing in the background.

Why Kourtney Let Reign Plan His Own Party

It appears Reign went for a Christmas-themed, as Kourtney showcased a huge Christmas tree lighting the inside of her house before focusing on an outdoor table lined with goody bags for the kids, placed in front of a fireplace. There was even a drink bar set up for the kid where they could indulge in a variety of warm and cold beverages, hosted by the gourmet food company Cappuccino Man.

Kourtney later shared footage of kids enjoying three giant bouncy castles set up in the backyard. These didn’t follow the holiday theme, rather playing into Reign’s other interests One of the castles was a Millennium Falcon from the Star Wars franchise.

The Kardashian-Jenner family is known for going all out for celebrations, and often have intricately planned themes for their soirees. Reign’s birthday bash may have seemed random albeit bougie, but Kourtney explained that he put it all together.

“He planned the party,” she wrote in one post.
When it came to food, Reign selected a donut cake – a three-tier tray with donuts of various colors and flavors available for the taking. He also had a Raising Cranes Chicken Fingers food truck for savory options.

In the past, Kourtney has held joint parties for Reign alongside his older brother Mason, who just turned 14, as the boys share the same birthday. But the mom-of-four clearly wanted to do something special for Reign, by letting him plan a party just for him and his friends, in his style, no less.

Kourtney’s Kids Are Adjusting Well To A New Sibling

Kourtney appears to have had a more hands-off approach to Reign’s birthday compared to other, similar events, which may be explained by the fact that she has a new baby in the household. Kourtney delivered a son, Rocky, in November, her first child with Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker.

There’s been little word on how her older kids are adjusting to their new sibling, but Kourtney had admitted having a blended family is tricky. When they first wed, Kourtney and Travis didn’t live together full-time to better facilitate co-parenting (he also has two teenage kids from a past marriage).

Nonetheless, sources say the transition to having a new baby has been going smoothly. “The kids are so excited to have a little brother,” a source told Us Weekly, adding the kids are “taking turns helping Kourtney and Travis out any way they can.”

It’s unclear how Kourtney celebrated Mason’s 14th birthday, but the Lemme founder has said her eldest son prefers staying away from the cameras now that he’s getting older, so it’s likely that his birthday celebrations will be kept private.
