Kourtney Kardashian is remembering her dad, Robert Kardashian Sr., on the eve of what would have been his 80th birthday.
“What I would give to sing him Happy Birthday and hear one of his funny jokes just one last time,” the Lemme founder wrote Wednesday on Instagram.
The family patriarch was born on Feb. 22, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, and died at age 59 on Sept. 30, 2003 — nearly two months after he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer.
“He had the best sense of humor and made life so much fun, like every car ride, every meal, watching movies (we had a movie date every Wednesday night, and he would show me an old movie each week)… he made it all so fun and special,” she continued. “Happy Birthday to the best Daddy in the world.”

“The best Daddy there ever was ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼,” wrote her mom Kris Jenner. The family matriarch was married to Robert Sr. from 1978 to 1991. In addition to Kourtney, the two had daughters Kim and Khloé, along with son Robert Kardashian Jr.
“The best daddy in the world!!! Tomorrow is his birthday ❤❤❤ he is our angel,” Khloé added in the comment section.
On a 2022 episode of The Kardashians, Kris revealed that Kourtney’s husband, Travis Barker, went to Robert Sr.’s grave to ask for his blessing to marry his daughter.
“He asked for her hand in marriage, and I was like, literally, I want to cry now. It was so sweet and so tender. And then he said he went to your dad’s grave and asked your dad [for permission], and I just lost it,” Kris shared during a conversation with Kim.
“It’s all happy, I just wish your dad was here to see it. I can hardly believe that it’s the first time that she’s getting married,” said Kris.
Kourtney and Travis got legally married on May 15, 2022, and held a ceremony that included family and friends on May 22, 2022, in Portofino, Italy. They welcomed their first child together, Rocky Thirteen Barker, in November 2023.
