Kourtney Kardashian is revealing the footage captured on The Kardashians that she didn’t want to air while also setting the record straight on the drama between her and sister Kim Kardashian.
During Thursday’s (May 30) episode of The Kardashians season five, the Poosh founder spoke to friends about the way her arguments and fights with the SKIMS founder is portrayed on their family’s Hulu reality show and how the feud is viewed by fans tuning in, per Entertainment Tonight. Kourtney specifically pointed out the drama surrounding Kim’s work with Dolce & Gabbana following her lavish Italian wedding to Travis Barker that was sponsored by the iconic brand.
The sisters’ rift came to a head during the show’s fourth season when they got into a shouting match over a phone call, complete with Kourtney calling Kim a “witch” and Kim claiming her sister’s friends have a “Not Kourtney” group chat where they talk about her. The conversation was so tense that Kourtney apparently didn’t know it would air.
“[Viewers] think that we hate each other. I so badly wanted to be like, ‘By the way, I never knew that call was filmed,'” she said, adding, “I just had a feeling that it was filmed after the fact and then she was like, ‘Yeah,’ and I’m like, ‘You’re not using it,’ but then it was too good not to use.”
While some fans tuning in to the show “got really analytical and deep” and were picking sides of the argument, Kourtney said there’s a simple reason their fights seem to blow up: “We’re sisters.”
“I’m sure people have crazy fights with their siblings. Maybe ours are more extreme. I really don’t know,” Kourtney said, with Kim agreeing. “I think there’s this huge misconception that Kourtney and I hate each other. We really don’t… No matter how crazy things are, no matter what’s going on, if she needs something, I’m there. If I need something, she’s there. We’ll always be that way, no matter what we’re going through.”
Kourtney said their relationship now is “great,” adding that “Everything’s back to normal. We get along. We really connect over the kids. I can’t even believe that a second of energy was wasted on that.”
There seemingly really is no bad blood between Kourtney and Kim, with the elder Kardashian sister even poking fun at her younger sister’s viral meltdown while on a recent family vacation.
