Kourtney Kardashian slammed for ‘obscene display of wealth’ on birthday

Kourtney Kardashian, who recently turned 44, celebrated her birthday by taking a couple’s vacation with her husband Travis Barker to Santa Barbara. The romantic getaway was made even more special with their stay at the Kennedy Cottage on San Ysidro Ranch, where late US President John F Kennedy and former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onᴀssis spent their honeymoon in 1953.

Kourtney documented the celebrations with a series of pictures shared on social media. “Feeling so overwhelmed with graтιтude for all of the birthday love and wishes. Turning 44 was a dream,” she captioned the post. The first pH๏τo featured a bed surrounded by red rose petals with a white canopy.

Another video showed her sitting in a restaurant as she blew out her birthday candles. The series of uploads also featured an array of stunning flower arrangements apart from a birthday gift given to her by Travis. It was a coloured pencil drawing by artist Yosнιтomo Nara which was sold at an auction for approximately $161,819, according to Sotheby’s.

While several people took to the comment section to wish the The Kardashians star a happy birthday, others criticised Kourtney over the excessive amount of flowers and display of wealth.

While one user wrote, “The flowers = absolutely ridiculous. I felt instant embarrᴀssment at that display”, another commented: “Wouldn’t it be nice if other unfortunate people could experience this.”

“Donate the value of those flowers to children’s hospitals so they can put the money where it’s most needed. Just a suggestion. Second hand flowers is an ego boost not charitable,” a user added.

As the pictures went viral, one person asked, “What do you think they do with the flowers after they are looked at?”. To which Kourtney replied, “We donate them to the children’s hospital.”
