Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have a huge blended family, as they both have three kid from previous relationships. But their clan is about to get even bigger, as Kourtney is about to give birth to their first child together.
Recently, the reality star’s step-daughter, Alabama Barker, 17, made an honest confession about how their family’s dynamic is changing as they prepare to welcome a new member.
How Kourtney And Travis’ Blended Family Is Adjusting To The New Baby
During a conversation with E! News at the BeautyCon event in Los Angeles earlier this week, Alabama conveyed her enthusiasm about getting a new sibling. “I just think having another family member is always awesome,” she shared. “Getting to know a new person, it’s gonna be so fun and so exciting!”
Alabama declined to comment on how Kourtney is doing following a hospitalization earlier this month, as she required emergency fetal surgery. Travis cancelled several Blink-182 tour stops in Europe to rush to Kourtney’s side, though she’s confirmed she’s successfully recovering.
“I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life,” Kourtney wrote in a social media post detailing her medical emergency.
“I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock,” she continued. “And to my mom [Kris Jenner], thank you for holding my hand through this.”
“As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery,” Kourtney went on. “I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear.”
Kourtney And Travis Didn’t Move In After Marrying Because Of Their Kids
Kourtney and Travis’ blended family is getting ready for a huge change, but they’ve taken their time getting everyone accustomed to the new dynamic since marrying in 2022. Even after their nuptials, Kourtney and Travis revealed they weren’t living together immediately.
In an episode of Amanda Hirsch’s “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast in October, Kourtney revealed that she and her husband, Travis Barker, still live in separate homes despite their wedding in May 2022. “We’re in the place where we’re figuring out how to blend our households and our kids and what does life look like now? So for the most part, I think we’re getting those things in place,” the Lemme founder explained.
Kourtney went on to add that they gather for family dinners at Travis’ residence once a week, conveniently located just a block away from her Calabasas mansion.
“We have our routines within our house. Like, when the kids are at their dad’s house, I stay at his house and there are still nights when we’ll stay at each other’s houses in between,” she explained. “But, I get up at six in the morning and I carpool every morning and then I go straight to his house and have matcha.”
However, Travis recently listed his Calabᴀssas mansion out for $25,000 a month, suggesting he’s getting ready to live with Kourtney full-time now that their baby is almost here.
Kourtney and Travis jointly acquired a beachfront property last year for $15 million, which could become their primary residence in the near future.
