Megan Fox Was Banned From Walmart When She Was Young And It May Have Something To Do With Her Extremely Rough Childhood

It’s safe to say that everyone knows who Megan Fox is, what with her roles in blockbuster movies like Transformers and Jennifer’s Body and her high-profile relationship with rapper Machine Gun Kelly.

While fans all over the world are familiar with Fox’s many acting credits, they might not know that she was once arrested for shoplifting at a Walmart, according to Express. What’s most bizarre? This ban might be in effect to this very day.

Is there anything else we know about Fox’s momentary foray into theft?

The Real Reason Walmart Banned Young Megan Fox
After admitting to being caught shoplifting as a youngster, Fox has stated that she no longer feels comfortable shopping at the Walmart stores in the United States. The celebrity was actually banned from the store for shoplifting cosmetics, and she has never returned.

Fox specifically took cosmetics from the collection created by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. How serendipitous, given that she and the Olsen twins would later work together on the 2001 film Holiday in the Sun. When asked by Express in 2009 if the restriction was still in effect, she said she wasn’t sure.

Fox acknowledged that she couldn’t resist the allure of new cosmetics and took them off the racks, alluding to the chaotic years of my life. Because of this, the authorities were able to apprehend the future star and take her into custody.

A friend of Fox told the tabloid, “Megan was quite a rebel growing up. She thought she could get away with anything, and definitely had sticky fingers.”She would pocket things like candy and gum from convenience stores, but Megan’s shoplifting days were quickly put to an end when she got busted for heisting a $7 tube of lipgloss from Walmart.

“At first, Megan denied it. Even after they told her they caught her on surveillance video, Megan still tried talking her way out of it. But when they threatened to call the police, Megan broke down in tears and confessed.”

Fox’s spokeswoman declined to respond when asked for confirmation or denial of the incident.

Young Megan Fox Was Taken To Court Due To The Shoplifting Incident
According to an interview Megan Fox gave to Express, the first time she stole was when she was 14 or 15.

She explained, “They actually took me into the court, and I had two choices, and I took the second choice, which was wrapping gifts for Christmas, which was awesome, it wasn’t really a punishment. The other one was they were gonna make me wear a sign that said I stole from Walmart and stand outside Walmart for three days.”

As of 2009, Fox still refused to go to Walmart, saying, “I don’t know if the ban was for life.”

Sadly, Fox has already suffered consequences for her open behavior before. Fans know that Fox stayed out of the spotlight for a long time after being “dumped” by Hollywood because of her criticism of director Michael Bay.

In 2009, she caused a stir when she said of the filmmaker, “He’s like Napoleon, and he wants to create this insane, infamous madman reputation.” She added, “He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is,” and went as far as saying that he was a “nightmare” to work for.

Hollywood had terminated her just like Walmart had, and despite a few decent roles here and there, her career was never the same.

Did Megan Fox’s Bad Childhood Cause Her To Shoplift?
It may come as a surprise, but Fox grew up on a farm, as reported by GQ. The actress of Jennifer’s Body was raised in the sleepy Tennessee town of Rockwood. According to Fox, it is a “semi-mountain town, very rural.”

She shared, “My dad used to hunt ducks, and my mom would put them in the pot. We lived really modestly. We had very little money.”

Fox did not have famous parents and had to struggle to achieve her success. From a young age, she yearned to leave behind the traumatic memories of her childhood by becoming an actress.

Marriage is difficult, and many couples ultimately separate. Fox’s life was turned upside down by her parents’ divorce, which can happen to anyone, regardless of age.

When her parents divorced, she was three years old. Elle claims that after her parents’ divorce, her mother and stepfather became overbearing disciplinarians. She said, “I was grounded for all of my childhood. Not most—all.”

Getting in trouble with your parents is par for the course when you’re a teenager, but it seemed like Fox was in trouble almost every day.

She told GQ that she was never allowed to stay overnight at her friends’ houses or theirs at hers. Fox spent a lot of time by herself because her older sister was 13 years her senior.

She felt even more alone due to her father’s absence. Megan told GQ that her father was greatly missed. She has never stopped thinking about how her parents’ split impacted her development.

She said, “It’s also a feeling of not being acceptable and wanting to be. Of course, I think that has something to do with my parents’ divorce and not seeing my dad, and always feeling rejected. You don’t ever really get past that.”

To make matters worse, Fox was ridiculed at school, so she couldn’t even use it as a getaway from her home life.

Fox has known since a young age that she wants to be an actress, but when other people discovered this about her, they made fun of her, as reported by Digital Spy. The star talked about the “evil girls” she encountered during her time in high school.

She said, “One girl came to school on Halloween in a black leather catsuit, and everyone thought she was catwoman. She answered, ‘No, I am Megan Fox’. She was making fun of me.”

Fox was an introvert who felt like an “outcast” for the majority of her life due to her lack of social popularity. It’s sad that Fox’s horrific childhood experiences continued to haunt her even after she got famous. Considering this, it’s easy to see why a young woman in need could steal cosmetics from Walmart.

Even though she made a poor choice as a child, that does not make her a bad person. Fox is a beauty bomb who burst onto the scene with her excellent acting skills, shoplifting or not.
