Overlooked Megan Fox Thriller With 90% Rotten Tomatoes Score Hits Netflix Next Month

Come October 1st, Netflix is set to add several new movies and television shows to their platform, one of these being an underlooked gem that also features action movie star and horror icon, Megan Fox. If you love bloody, hair-raising revenge thrillers — this might be the movie for you.

It was revealed on What’s on Netflix that Till Death, released in 2021, is hitting the streaming platform next month. It stars Megan Fox, who plays the main character Emma, Eoin Macken, who plays her husband, and the two main antagonists are played by Callan Mulvey and Jack Roth. The film holds a 90% Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie follows Emma as she wakes up handcuffed to her husband, who abruptly commits suicide. Prior to this, he brings her to an isolated lake house to celebrate their wedding anniversary, where he apologizes for his cold, controlling and detached behavior. After he dies, she comes to discover that this was an elaborate revenge plot orchestrated by him for an affair she had. A mysterious truck arrives at the house to finish the job, which translates to: finish Emma. With all the sharp objects removed from the house and her cell phone destroyed, Emma must fight to survive.

Megan Fox is no rookie to the thriller and horror landscape — she cemented her status as an icon with her role in Jennifer’s Body — which also, like this film, went under the radar. Beatrice Loayza from The New York Times wrote, “This straightforward romp focuses its attention on its cunning and no-nonsense scream queen. And what Fox lacks in dramatic prowess, she makes up for in pure, wicked magnetism.” Another review from Dread Central additionally spoke positively of Fox: “Megan Fox is always a welcome horror star, a contemporary scream queen with more grit and grunge than most, and she’s as good here as she’s ever been.”

Not only was her acting performance fantastic, her physicality was challenged as well. In an interview with Fox News, she revealed that since the movie was filmed in Bulgaria, “‘I was in every scene. I wasn’t sleeping. A lot of stuff was going on here in the States, which is an opposite time zone. So I would be working all day in a really physical role and then getting very little sleep at night, maybe two or three hours. I did that for however many weeks, maybe five weeks.'”
