Those Megan Fox Thumbs: See Her Secret Imperfection

It should probably go without saying, though we will anyway, that ever since Megan Fox debuted on the 2002 TV Series Ocean Ave., she has been one of the more desirable actresses on the planet.

While that has nothing to do with her actual acting ability (though there have been plenty of Sєxy videos), there’s no doubt that she is quite easy on the eyes. From head to toe, Fox is sheer perfection. Almost. Let’s have us a conversation about Megan Fox’s thumbs.

MEGAN FOX DOES HAVE DEFORMED THUMBS

There have been a few names attributed to Megan Fox’s thumbs. Some call them Club Thumbs, others call them Toe Thumbs. The correct and medical term for them, though, is brachydactyly. This term is used for the condition that produces disproportionately short fingers and toes.

There are many forms of brachydactyly, which as a group includes shortened tubular bones in both the feet and hands. The inherited trait that Fox has is called brachydactyly type D, which is the form that directly affects the thumbs.

The appearance of Megan Fox’s “Club Thumbs” has never affected her acting career. After appearing in 132 episodes of Ocean Ave., Fox went on to bigger and better things. Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen was her first introduction to feature films she followed with the TV series, Hope & Faith.

Fox got her real big break in 2007 when she was cast as Mikaela Barnes opposite Shia LaBeouf’s Sam Witwicky, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and a whole host of Decepticons in Michael Bay’s Transformers. So far, there have been no Megan Fox thumb issues.

Megan Fox, along with her thumbs, followed up Transformers with How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, which would be a precursor to her early career. She did find herself in the sequel to Transformers with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, but it was her mouth (and not her thumbs) that eventually got her fired from the Transformers franchise.

Megan Fox (and her thumbs) was slated to return for the third time as Mikaela Barnes in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, but the actress instead decided to talk to the British magazine Wonderland and share some brutal thoughts about Michael Bay.

In the article, Fox said that Bay “wants to be like Hitler on his sets” and that Bay is “a nightmare to work for.” To Bay’s credit, he was willing to look past Fox’s comments, but it was executive producer Steven Spielberg who was not going to look past it at all.

“I wasn’t hurt, because I know that’s just Megan,” Bay told PEOPLE at the time. “Megan loves to get a response. And she does it in the wrong way. I’m sorry, Megan. I’m sorry I made you work 12 hours. I’m sorry that I’m making you show up on time. Movies are not always warm and fuzzy.” He just couldn’t give Megan Fox the thumbs up there.

Even Shia LaBeouf had to agree with the firing of Fox. “Criticism is one thing,” he said to GQ. “Then there’s public name-calling, which turns into high school bashing. Which you can’t do. She started sнιт-talking our captain.”

It was Spielberg, though, who made the final call. According to Bay, “She [Fox] was in a different world, on her BlackBerry. You gotta stay focused. And you know, the Hitler thing. Steven [Spielberg] said, “Fire her right now.” Apparently, Megan Fox’s thumbs were working overtime on set and not the way the higher-ups wanted.

But all’s well that ends well apparently. Bay did say during the GQ interview that was published before Dark of the Moon premiered, that he heard from Fox. “She sent me a text three months ago. She said, “I hope you’re doing well.”

I responded, “Who is this?” She goes, “Megan, you dork!” I said, “Oh, well, thank you, hope you’re well.” When you’re days and months on a set, it’s like a family. You say rude things and you make up.”

SHE HAS NO PROBLEM TALKING ABOUT HER THUMBS

Apparently, this somewhat controversial feature does not bother Megan Fox at all. In fact, she doesn’t shy away from talking about them when the topic is brought up.

Shortly after her dismissal from the Transformer franchise, Fox appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. During the interview, she talked about her latest pregnancy (she has three children with ex-hubby Brian Austin Green) and how she cut out sushi due to the mercury risks with raw fish.
