Victoria’s Secret Angel Lily Aldridge talks bath times and beauty disasters

My earliest beauty memory has to be bath times. My dad is English, so I’ve always been a bath person. There’s nothing more luxurious than getting in a tub and washing off the day. My mum’s modelling career had a big influence [her mother is former Playboy Playmate Laura Lyons]. I was fascinated by watching her get ready, with rollers in her hair.

I learnt that less is more: keep my skin healthy, spritz a good perfume and wear a gorgeous lip colour. That’s not to say I haven’t had disasters. When I was in high school, I over-tweezed my brows until I had about four hairs left on each side. Thankfully I’m Italian with thick hair, so everything grew back.

Looking after my skin is important. A great face mask and drinking plenty of water are my rules. I try to travel light and just take the essentials. I love a good mascara – at the moment, Charlotte Tilbury’s Full Fat Lashes – and always have a good under-eye concealer to hand. I love the Clé de Peau Beauté one and I can’t go anywhere without my Windsor Edwards lip balm.

Fragrance is essential. I wear it on my wrists, but sometimes spritz my hair for an extra statement.

I love working out and feeling strong. Ballet Beautiful is great as I can do my workout with my trainer over Skype, anywhere in the world.
