The Kardashian-Jenner family has been highly anticipated guests at the Met Gala over the last 10 years now, with Kourtney Kardashian only making her debut last year alongside her husband (then-fiancé) Travis Barker. The rockstar couple looked stunning in their custom looks by Thom Browne.
“A mᴀssive thank you to @thombrowne for your vision. When I heard that Travis and I were the first couple you had dressed, how important it was to you that our story be told, for us to be an extension of each other, it meant so much to us. I love how I was the deconstructed version of his perfectly polished look,” Kourtney wrote in an Instagram post. “I had all of the elements from his look draped all over me. His pleated skirt, jacket, and suit pants were dripping from my skirt.”
If you were hoping to catch what their coordinating couple look would be this time around, you’ll be disappointed to find out that the Barkers actually didn’t attend this year’s glamorous gala.
While the official reason why they skipped hasn’t been released, there were rumors swirling around in March that the Kardashian-Jenners were uninvited to arguably the biggest fashion event of the year. Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour has all the say on who gets to attend the exclusive bash, and she is allegedly “cracking down” on who’s names make it on the guest list, according to Page Six. It was quickly debunked that Kim was uninvited, but the other sisters’ statuses have not been confirmed.
So unfortunately we don’t know whether Kourt and Trav were uninvited or simply decided to ditch this year’s festivities, but hopefully next year they’ll make their comeback and we’ll get more Kravis content.
